I’ve finally published my first coloring book!
Actually, I ended up publishing my first and third books just two days apart. Here’s why: I had my first one ready for a while, but suddenly became terrified—worried that it wasn’t good enough, that people wouldn’t like it, or that I’d embarrass myself. So, I kept postponing its release—days turned into weeks—while I worked on new projects. I love the creative process, but releasing the finished books is still daunting for me.
In the weeks leading up to Halloween, I was focused on my Halloween-themed book, «Halloween Adventures: A Colouring Journey – Trick-or-Treating Animals». Once it was finished, I knew I couldn’t afford to delay its release—Halloween was fast approaching, and it wouldn’t make sense to publish it after the holiday. So, I gathered my courage and, one night, told myself, «No more excuses. Publish those books!»
Feeling guilty about my first book still waiting in the wings, I decided to release it before the Halloween one, giving it its rightful place as my debut. That’s why my first coloring book, «Cozy Home Tour», and «Halloween Adventures: A Colouring Journey – Trick-or-Treating Animals» were published just two days apart.
Publishing on Amazon KDP is both thrilling and humbling. The excitement of seeing your book live on Amazon is incredible—only to be followed by the realization that it can easily get lost in the sea of other books. It’s disheartening to think that no one might see them or even know they exist. That’s the next challenge I need to tackle: getting them noticed, letting people know they’re out there, waiting to be filled with color and artistic passion. But for now, I’m proud that I conquered my fear and published my first (and third!) coloring book.
If you’re curious about my second book, «A Girl’s Life», keep reading here (coming soon). I started working on it right after the first one but paused to finish the Halloween project in time.
